As the news was relayed from check point to check point, all present wondered and all the world waited. What would the first exchange of prisoners with the communist produce? It was not impossible that due to poor medical treatment the conditions of the seriously sick and wounded would not be far remote from the dead. Yet there was not way of telling - only the men on the road in the ambulances knew - and the man unconscious in the litter pod of the helicopter that was taking him to freedom. While the world waited they moved south over the ground they had fought for and will never forget.
