It is not common in the world today that communists and free people work so near each other as they did in the exchange of POWs or in the Korean truce talks. Although the movements of all U.N. correspondents and observers were highly restricted in the communist receiving centers, they were allowed nearer the communist armies at war (in the neutral zone effectively in their midst) than any other group of people, this providing an unique atmosphere and almost a chance to see behind the scene. The impressive welcoming arch for the returning communist; colorful and exciting by daylight, sinister at dusk.
