Wearing the traditional broad-brimmed hat, the Australian soldier has taken an active part in the Korean conflict. Fighting with the toughness he displayed so clearly in World War II, he remains a dramatic figure and a great asset to the United Nations's efficiency in Korea. To follow an Australian rifleman in combat takes the stamina of a mountain goat and the strength of a boar - he is seemly tireless and apparently has no fear, yet the toughest men with the deadliest jobs have a soft-spoken gentleness on serious subjects and a world renowned blasphemy on light ones. Colorful with their cause, tradition, devoted in their cause, a credit to the UN. (Prism colored pencil on black paper, Commonwealth Division in Korea.)
