One of the many bays in the neighborhood of the Kure Naval Base in the Island Sea, Japan. Hiro Wan harbored units of the Fifth Fleet assisting in the occupation of that area. The rusty, battered and oily hulk of the Japanese battleship "Hyuga" lies on the bottom in the shallows--a source of curiosity on the part of U. S. invaders.
