I captured photo references for this painting on 13 August 2025 on a “Target Boat” used for the day’s training mission. Special Warfare Combat Crewmen of Special Boat Team TWELVE are based at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado in San Diego and in this depiction are operating the Combatant Craft Assault (CCA) to deliver members of SEAL Team ONE to the target boat to practice various aspects of assaulting a target vessel. This training was conducted in the Pacific Ocean just NNW of Point Loma and Coronado is visible on the horizon.
