An LCAC (Landing Craft, Air Cushion) is deployed from USS Gunston Hall in the northern Gulf two days before the ground war begins. The LCAC’s were part of a massive deception operation, but were prepared to actually assault Falaga Island until two warships hit Iraqi mines.
