A Man With One Arm
A Man With One Arm
Hugh Cabot
Accession Number: 88-187-CH
Original work: Drawing, Pencil
Original size: 9.5 by 6 inches

In the early spring days of Little Switch many returning prisoners wore the heavy quilted great coats given them by the communist. Smiling and warm in his padded coat, this man will long remember another bitter spring when his captors did not provide warm clothing. A rifle bullet ripped through his palm and frost bit blackened his forearm. His medical treatment was adequate; told to bit hard a stick, his infested arm was amputated, most probably saving his life; the treatment of the sick and wounded in communist prison camps is adequate.
