Charles G. Grow
Charles Grow enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1982, serving as a combat cameraman. A largely self-taught artist, Sergeant Grow came to the attention of the Marine Corps combat art program in the mid-1980s, and he later documented Desert Shield/Storm and other operations. Captain Grow retired from the Marine Corps in 2003 and continued to serve the Corps first as an art curator and then Deputy Director of the National Museum of the Marine Corps, retiring in 2020.  He continued to create works for the art collection, including paintings of Wounded Warrior activities, portraits of USMC Medal of Honor recipients, and paintings based on his Marine experiences.  He continues to paint in his home studio in eastern Tennessee.
