I started this oil painting en plein air at The Covered Bridge behind the Lanterman’s Mill in Mill Creek Park. When I was about 80% finished with this one I went back to the park with hopes of adding in a few people. I struck up a conversation with this man and his dog who were sitting on the bridge looking down at the river leading to the Lanterman’s falls below. He was more than happy to walk through the front of the bridge I had already painted so that I could get the perspective just right. I only wish I had gotten his name and phone number so that I could have sent him a photo of the finished painting to enjoy and show his wife. A month after I finished this painting I saw how the leaves in front turned into a brilliant yellow. Such a beautiful site to see!
