Frank A. D'Isa

Dr. Frank A. D'Isa, became interested in photography in 1964 and began entering juried shows in 1972. His special interests are New England costal scenery and seasonal topics in and around Youngstown, Ohio. He was a major contributor to the book "Visions of the Valley" published in 1996, having over 30 stunning images included.

In addition to many awards, one person and two person exhibitions (with his wife Mary Kay), his photographic works have been purchased by numerous institutions, including the Butler Institute of American Art.

Frank received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Youngstown College, a Master of Science from Carnegie Institute of Technology and PH.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. D'Isa was a professor of Mechanical Engineering at Youngstown State University for 45 years, where he also served as the Department Chariman, retiring in 1992. During this period he authored the textbook "Mechanics of Metals" published by Addison-Wesley Publishing Co., and "A History of Engineering at Youngstown State University".

In 1974, he was presented the "Outstanding Person Award" by the Mahoning Valley Technical Societies Council, and in 1995 he received the prestigious "Heritage Award" from Youngstown State University. He has also received three Watson Awards.

Frank and his wife Mary Kay reside in Boardman, OH.
